Description
Black Silicon Carbide #16 Grit is a coarse-grade silicon carbide abrasive material manufactured from high-purity petroleum coke and silica sand through high-temperature electric furnace smelting, crushing, and precise sizing processes.
With excellent hardness, sharp cutting edges, and outstanding abrasive performance, Black Silicon Carbide #16 Grit provides aggressive cutting action and efficient material removal. Its coarse particle size makes it well suited for heavy-duty surface preparation, abrasive blasting, grinding, and applications requiring fast cutting performance.
Compared with finer silicon carbide grits, #16 Black Silicon Carbide Grit offers high impact strength and excellent stock removal capability while providing slightly more controlled cutting than #14 grit. This makes it an ideal abrasive for demanding industrial applications such as rust removal, surface cleaning, refractory processing, rough grinding, and metal surface preparation.
